Many of my rhinoplasty or nose job patients have concomitant issues with sinus infections and may require sinus surgery. Rhinoplasty is surgery of the nose and nasal airway whereas sinus surgery widens the openings of the sinuses so that they drain more effectively into the nose.

The recovery after sinus surgery and nose surgery is quite similar and having both does not lengthen the recovery. I typically do not use any packing after rhinoplasty but do at times require packing after sinus surgery.
