Does a facelift include the neck?

The term facelift is somewhat of a misnomer. As far as I am concerned, if you desire a facelift for your jowls or loose facial skin, you likely need your neck addressed as well. That is to say, you likely have significant laxity in your neck skin and may have submental or neck fullness that needs to be addressed.

A facelift should really be termed a face and neck lift. It truly should address the face and neck effectively. It should improve the appearance of the jowls, neck muscle banding, face and neck skin laxity, and submental or neck fullness from fat herniation.

Recovery from a face and neck lift is typically 2-3 weeks.
