Revision Rhinoplasty or a revision nose job is a complicated and difficult procedure. The surgeon is dealing with scar tissue in the nose and a lack of cartilage with which to work. Frequently, cartilage must be taken from another source. The ear makes for great cartilage.

The scar is on the back of the ear and not noticeable. The shape of the ear does not change at all. The cartilage is soft, pliable, and easily used for grafts in the nose during revision rhinoplasty. I use ear cartilage frequently for my revision rhinoplasties and find it to be a great source of cartilage when the septum is not available due to the previous septoplasty.
