Rhinoplasty or nose job for wide base

Rhinoplasty or nose surgery can be performed for someone with a wide base of the nose or wide nostrils. This is a common procedure for patients of ethnic background such as African-Americans, Hispanics, and even some Caucasians. Alar base reduction is performed by making small incisions in the nostril sill and around the ala to remove the excess tissue and narrow the base. These incisions actually heal quite well and scar very little. This can narrow the base of the nose, narrow the nostrils, and also reduce nostril flare.

Dr. Funk is a rhinoplasty specialist in Houston, TX and performs close to 100 nose surgeries per year.
