The decision to have nose surgery or rhinoplasty to change the shape of the nose is a personal one. The majority of my patients will tell me that they “never liked their nose for as long as they can remember”. If you are constantly noticing your nose in photographs and finding yourself wanting to take repeat photos to get the right one which doesn’t make your nose look too big or crooked, you may be a good candidate for a nose job. If you find yourself constantly commenting or noting models’ and actors’ noses as opposed to their lips, hair, or eyes, you may have some insecurities about your nose. Your feelings about your nose may wax and wane as the years progress, but in the end, they will always be there.
The decision as to whether to have nose surgery is ultimately yours and should not be significantly influenced by family and friends. Their input and support is always helpful throughout the process, but the final decision is one for you to make.
