Will Rhinoplasty Weaken My Nose?

Many of my nose surgery patients ask if rhinoplasty will weaken your nose. They want to know if they will require another rhinoplasty down the road or if their nose will droop over time after a nose job.

Rhinoplasty actually causes quite the opposite. Having nose surgery will actually build you a nose for life. The use of cartilage grafts and the scarring that occurs will provide more tip support for your nose and not lead to a droopy tip. In fact, some of my patients will state that the tip of their nose may feel stiff initially. This will soften over time and become more pliable.

Rhinoplasty should be performed by someone who understands nasal tip dynamics and how to maintain support of the nose.

Dr. Funk is a rhinoplasty expert in Houston, Texas.
