Will Rhinoplasty Change My Smile?

Rhinoplasty or nose job surgery is a procedure to change the shape of the nose. Rhinoplasty should not affect one’s smile or change the shape of the smile. Initially however, your smile may feel tight and stiff. This typically occurs for the first 2-3 weeks and then settles down afterwards to your normal feeling smile. Some patients are afraid to smile after rhinoplasty in fear of shifting the nose or moving the nose after nose job surgery. However, if the rhinoplasty is performed properly, then smiling should not affect the changes made to the nose. The upper lip may appear swollen after rhinoplasty but this will also settle after a few weeks.

Dr. Funk is a top rhinoplasty surgeon in Houston.
