Eyelid surgery recovery

Eyelid surgery or blepharoplasty is a common procedure that can be performed under sedation or general anesthesia. Upper eyelid surgery can even be done under straight local anesthesia.

Recovery after eyelid surgery for upper eyelid surgery is typically 5-6 days. Many patients can resume regular, non-exertional activities the following day. Upper eyelid stitches are removed day 6.

Recovery after lower eyelid bag surgery is typically 7-10 days. There is a little more swelling and bruising with lower eyelid surgery but most patients are social 7-10 days after lower blepharoplasty.
