Scar after Eyelid Surgery

Blepharoplasty or eyelid surgery to remove excess skin or under eye bags is an excellent way to appear more refreshed, rejuvenated, and youthful. This surgery has little downtime and recovery is fairly painless.

The scars after eyelid surgery for the upper eyelid will hide nicely in the upper eyelid crease. There will be about 5-10mm of scar that extends out laterally from the eyelid that takes a little longer to heal but within several weeks will hide nicely in a crow’s feet wrinkle. The lower eyelid scar is 1-2mm below the lash line and hides nicely in a shadowed area and in a lower eyelid crease and is easily camouflaged by the lower eyelid lashes.

Dr. Funk is a board certified facial plastic surgeon who performs many eyelid surgery procedures in Houston.
