Many of rhinoplasty patients come from outside of Houston from places such as The Woodlands, Corpus Christi, and Harlingen. They come to Houston to seek rhinoplasty as they may not feel that they can identify the expertise needed for rhinoplasty surgery in these locations. One of the common questions I get from out of town rhinoplasty patients is when will they need to see me postoperatively. Patients will typically spend the night in Houston the night prior to their rhinoplasty surgery, especially if they are the first surgery at 7am. Patients who live more than a 3 hour drive away should plan on spending their first night in Houston and head home the following day. I typically see patients 5-7 days postoperatively to remove the cast and stitches from rhinoplasty and retape the nose. At this point, the patients can go home and come back to see me 2-4 days later to remove the tape, or they can remove the tape on their own at home. I then typically see patients at one month, three months, 6 months, and 1 year.
