How long does eyelid surgery last?

Upper eyelid surgery or lower eyelid surgery is performed to remove excess skin from the eyelids and address lower eyelid bags. The lower eyelid bags are typically due to fat in the lower eyelid descending in the area. Eyelid surgery does not halt the aging process but creates a more rejuvenated, refreshed, and rested appearance. Normally eyelid surgery should last 7-10 years before a repeat procedure would be needed. Now, at this time, your eyes will not look the way they did prior to surgery and still look better. However, loose excess skin may start to show again.
