Many of my Houston eyelid surgery patients who have lower eyelid bags inquire into the use of laser for lower blepharoplasty. Laser treatments can be used to incise the conjunctiva or pink portion of the eye or can be used for resurfacing of the lower eyelid skin. I have not found that laser treatments decrease bleeding or swelling when making an incision in the conjunctiva. Ultimately, laser treatment may be useful for those surgeons who use it often, but the results with a scalpel or cautery are similar.
