Cadaver rib for rhinoplasty

Many of my Houston rhinoplasty and revision rhinoplasty patients may have had a previous septoplasty or rhinoplasty and now have a saddle nose or collapsed nose. Other Houston ethnic rhinoplasty patients want their bridge higher or feel their nasal bridge is too low. There are many options to augment a low nasal dorsum or bridge.

I prefer the use of irradiated cadaver rib to augment a slooped nose or saddle nose. This is from a screened donor and purified and then undergoes radiation treatments. It is an excellent option when we can not utilized septal cartilage after septoplasty or ear cartilage for rhinoplasty. The warping and infection rate are the same as autologous rib and avoids the extra incision, pain, and scar.
