Many of my Houston rhinoplasty patients inquire about upper eyelid surgery or lower eyelid surgery at the same time of their nose job surgery. Rhinoplasty can be performed at the same time as eyelid surgery. Bruising after rhinoplasty typically occurs around the eyes and therefore eyelid surgery may cause a little more bruising or swelling but not significantly. Typically the eyelid portion of the surgery is performed first followed by the rhinoplasty. Rhinoplasty is not as sterile of a procedure as eyelid surgery as the inside of the nose cannot be prepped sterilely. Lower eyelid bags surgery and rhinoplasty can truly give a more youthful, refreshed, and enhanced appearance as rhinoplasty will eliminate the distraction of a crooked nose, nasal hump, or bulbous tip and move the focus to the eyes which will look that much more refreshed with lower eyelid blepharoplasty.
