The medical term for a facelift is rhytidectomy which literally means removal of wrinkles. A facelift will help significantly with larger deeper wrinkles in the cheeks, neck, and jawline. However, don’t expect it to get rid of fine wrinkles around and under the eyes. The suspension of the SMAS especially with a deep plane facelift will significantly improve jowling, the jawline, and the neck. By tightening and removing the excess skin, the wrinkles in these areas will also become less noticeable.
