Eyelid surgery and transexamic acid

Many of my Houston eyelid surgery patients are concerned about recovery time after their eyelid surgery. There is a new medication that Dr. Funk is beginning to use that helps minimize bruising and swelling and it is call transexamic acid. This medication is given through the IV just prior to surgery and helps prevent bruising and bleeding. This will help after eyelid surgery whether it is upper blepharoplasty or lower blepharoplasty for lower eyelid bags.

Dr. Funk performs eyelid surgery in Houston, TX.
