Many of my Houston facelift patients will ask how many years younger they may look after a facelift. This depends on the type of facelift performed. A facelift that incorporates a deep plane facelift into the dissection will last longer. With the deep plane facelift, the ligaments are released and the SMAS is suspended to enhance the jawline, treat the jowls, and the skin laxity in the neck. This type of facelift will make patients look about 10-15 years younger. Other less involved facelift surgery will take anywhere from 3-6 years off the appearance of the face and neck.
