Rhinoplasty for a wide nose

Some of my Houston rhinoplasty patients are seeking rhinoplasty surgery for a wide nose. A wide nose may be due to wide nasal bones or a wide middle vault of cartilage. A surgeon can narrow a wide nose with rhinoplasty here by creating controlled fractures or osteotomies of the bone and suturing techniques for the middle vault. A wide nose may also be due to a boxy tip. This can be due to wide cartilages in the tip, redundant cartilage in the tip, or cartilage that is too springy. These nasal cartilages can be reshaped with certain maneuvers and suturing techniques.
