Facelift with thin hair

Many of my Houston facelift patients who come in for consultation are noted to have thinning and sparse hair around the temple area. This presents a dilemma as the incisions for a facelift are placed close to this temporal tuft of hair. When the hair is thick and dense, the scar is well hidden within the hairline after a facelift. However, this scar may be more apparent with thinner and less dense hair. Options prior to facelift can be Rogaine to help increase hair density. The incisions can also be placed more into the hair bearing scalp so that the scar is not at the edge of the hairline.
