When I see my Houston facelift patients in consultation, many may ask how long a facelift will take or how many hours under anesthesia for a facelift. This depends on the extent of the facelift and the extent of dissection. A mini facelift will typically take 3 hours of operative time. This is including the deep plane dissection for the mini facelift.

A full facelift including the neck lift will take closer to 4 hours in order to get a proper lift with the full dissection of the neck and a platysmaplasty. This procedure is usually done under general anesthesia and sometimes with an overnight stay.
