Facelift and sideburn or temporal tuft

Some of my Houston facelift patients are curious regarding the incisions and scars after a facelift. Where the incisions are placed will also determine how high the sideburn or temporal tuft of hair is lifted. If the incision is placed behind the temporal tuft, then this may raise the hairline in this area giving the classic or telltale sign of a facelift. If the incision is placed just in front or a few follicles inside the temporal tuft and then curved up the temple, this will not raise the hairline and still allow the scar to hide just at the hairline. If a neck lift alone is considered, then this incision will not need to be extended this high.

Dr. Funk performs facelifts and neck lifts in Houston.
