Some of my Houston facelift patients have inquired about the possibility of a non-surgical facelift or a liquid lift. A facelift, as the name implies, is performed to suspend the sagging face and neck and improve jowling, tighten the neck, and the jawline and sometimes lift the cheeks. A liquid facelift is performed using fillers such as Restylane and Juvederm to fill a face that has lost volume. This does not necessarily provide the “lift” required for sagging jowls and a loose neck. It can create more cherubic, full cheeks which are associated with youth. It can also fill the tear trough to make the eyes look less tired and more youthful. We can also use filler to address depressed temples, smile lines, or marionette lines. Recovery after a liquid facelift is only 1-2 days with mild swelling and minimal bruising.
