When can I get a facial after rhinoplasty?

Many of my Houston rhinoplasty patients will ask during their postoperative visits when they can get a facial after rhinoplasty. Many of these patients have blackheads or clogged pores after rhinoplasty and want extractions performed on their nose. My recommendation to patients is that they can have a facial at 3 weeks without touching the nose and 8 weeks for the skin of the nose. The nose is still fragile and not well enough healed to undergo manipulation earlier than this. Manipulation of the nose can lead to damage to the work that was performed with rhinoplasty.
