Rhinoplasty for nostril asymmetry

Many of my Houston rhinoplasty patients will present with nostril asymmetry that concerns them. Nostrils asymmetry can be due to a deviated septum, asymmetric tip cartilages, congenital defects, or a history of nasal trauma. Septoplasty to correct a deviated septum can improve nostril asymmetry. Repositioning of the tip cartilages can also improve nostril asymmetry. Performing an alar base reduction or nostril narrowing can also improve assymetric nostrils. Sometimes cartilage grafts are used from the septum to support a nostril to create more symmetry.

Dr. Funk is a top rhinoplasty surgeon in Houston, Texas.
