Is Nose Surgery Permanent?

Patients interested in a nose job or rhinoplasty will frequently as if this nose surgery is permanent. Unlike a facelift, breast augmentation, or eyelid surgery, rhinoplasty (when done correctly) is permanent. Once everything has healed after your nose surgery, the tip will not droop as you age and the nose should not grow or change (as long as there was not any trauma). This is unlike a facelift or breast augmentation which frequently need to be repeated every 10-15 years.

With rhinoplasty, there is significant scarring under the skin and if proper nasal tip support is addressed with grafts and sutures, then the tip should stay in place and not droop over time as may occur with the face, eyelids, and breasts due to loss of elasticity and gravity.
