Septoplasty for Deviated Septum

A deviated septum can cause breathing issues in the nose. Nasal surgery can help this with a septoplasty which can be done closed through intranasal incisions, or sometimes with a rhinoplasty approach.

A deviated septum that causes nostril asymmetry is repaired using a rhinoplasty approach.

Sometimes I use a small piece of bone from the septum to brace the deviated portion of the cartilage I have to leave in the septum. If bone is not available, I may use a PDS plate.

Dr. Funk is a board certified facial plastic surgeon that specializes in rhinoplasty and revision rhinoplasty.
