Many of my Houston eyelid surgery patients present with concerns regarding their upper eyelid excess skin or hooding over their eyes.  While some of these patients may simply have excess skin over their eyelids, others may actually have heavy or low eyebrows.  

The female  eyebrow should lie about 1cm above the bony ridge on the outside of the brow.  Strong frown muscles may also lead to depressed brows and a more masculine appearance.  An endoscopic brow lift is an excellent choice for elevating the brow and resecting the frown muscles.  This will help elevate the brow to a more desired location and alleviate the heaviness on the brow.  

At times, an upper blepharoplasty or upper eyelid surgery is necessary in addition to a browlift.  This is for patients with heavy brows and excess eyelid skin.
