Many of my Houston ethnic rhinoplasty patients present with thick nasal tip skin and want a smaller more refined nasal tip.  African American rhinoplasty or Asian rhinoplasty patients will frequently have thicker nasal tip skin.  There are ways to create a more refined tip such as defatting or debulking the skin, shaping and using suture techniques to refine and sharpen the cartilage that form the tip.  Using cartilage grafts taken from septal cartilage during a septoplasty for a deviated nasal septum to build up and refine the tip.
