When can I wear glasses after rhinoplasty?

Many of our Houston rhinoplasty patients will ask when they can wear glasses after their rhinoplasty.  If the nasal bones are fractured during rhinoplasty, undue pressure on the nasal bones can impede healing and lead to a deformity.  It is recommended to not wear any glasses or sunglasses on the nose for the first 6-8 weeks after rhinoplasty.  Those patients who need to wear glasses are given their cast back so they can wear their glasses over their cast.
