Packing after Nose Surgery or Nose Job

Many of my patients have asked if I use packing inside the nose after theirnose surgeryor nose job. Nasal packing can be quite uncomfortable and cause significant pressure for the patient after rhinoplasty.

I, therefore, do not pack the nose after surgery. Rarely, a patient may have significant bleeding during the procedure and I may elect to pack the nose at the completion of the surgery to avoid future bleeding.

However, typically, the nose remains unpacked and the patient seems to have less discomfort because of this.
