Rhinoplasty for too much nostril show

Many of my Houston rhinoplasty patients have concerns regarding their nostrils. Some may state that their nostrils are not necessarily too wide, but that there is too much nostril show from the side view or profile. This is actually labeled as nostril retraction. Nostril retraction is usually due to the positioning of the tip cartilages or excess caudal septum. This can be corrected with rhinoplasty utilizing techniques to reposition the tip cartilages, shorten the septum, or place grafts to lower the nostril rim.
