Rhinoplasty Swelling

I frequently have to explain the process of swelling after rhinoplasty with my Houston patients to manage expectations for the final result. Most patients can expect 10% of their swelling to subside after 3 weeks and 20-30% after 6 weeks. It does usually take a full year for all the swelling to abate. The nasal tip area is usually the last to settle. Revision rhinopalsty patient, patients with thick nasal tip skin, or patients that require significantly more work may take up to 2 years for all the swelling to subside.
