What is thread lift?

Many of my Houston facelift patients inquire about the new buzz about thread lifts. Thread lifting has been around since the mid 2000’s and has been studied extensively. These studies have demonstrated repeatedly that the form of facelift called a thread lift provides little to long term effects. Slight improvement is noted for the first few months after the thread lift and then the same saggy jowls and loose neck appears. in addition, there have been cases of the threads extruding out though the skin after the thread lift. Dr. Funk does not recommend thread lifts at this time.
