Will rhinoplasty change your lips?

Many of my Houston rhinoplasty patients are concerned about changes to the other aspects of their face after rhinoplasty. When performing rhinoplasty, especially when a septoplasty for a deviated septum is involved, the upper lip can become swollen postoperatively. After rhinoplasty, your smile will feel tight and there will initially be less teeth show with your smile. This is temporary and typically due to swelling. This issue should resolve within 3-6 weeks and your smile and lips should return to normal after rhinoplasty.
