Earlobe Reduction Surgery

Large earlobes can be reduced in size with an office procedure termed earlobe reduction. Large earlobes can detract from the beauty of earrings and also lead to mispositioned earrings. The goal in earlobe reduction is to reshape the earlobe into a smaller size while retaining the natural curved appearance of the earlobe itself.

Earlobe reduction surgery is performed in the office under local anesthesia. After injection with the numbing medication, the area is made sterile and a small incision is made removing a small amount of skin and the fleshy portion of the earlobe. Next the incision is closed with stitches leaving an unnoticeable scar that is well hidden.

It is recommended to avoid wearing earrings for 3 weeks after the earlobe surgery procedure to allow for proper healing.
